Well, we did it!

... and it feels overwhelmingly wonderful!

The wedding was so close to perfect, it's safe to say ... it was absolutely perfect!

Pictures can be found here!

The honeymoon was seriously paradise - we went to Sandals in Antigua, which is in the West Indies! We had two butlers, a cell phone to reach him/her at all times, and everything was paid for in advance! It was strange to come back and actually have to pay for dinner or drinks! Ha ha!

Pictures from the honeymoon can be found here!

Just something to lighten the mood ... our cake! Isn't it lovely? It has me so excited!
I like the flower thing on the top, but it's made of gumpaste and would probably cost as much as the cake, so I think we may just go with fresh hydrangeas - our flower choice of the night!
I need a checklist, but here is the list of everything done thus far!

Wedding Coordinator - Check!
Her name is Christine Garrett and I recommend her to anyone and everyone!

Place for Ceremony and Reception - Check!

http://www.heardcraig.org/
The ceremony will be in Katie's Garden,
and the reception will be at the Heard-Craig Hall.
The website does not have very nice pictures.

My dress - Check!
Let's just have that be a surprise!
If you want to see it, email me!
I'm not going to take chances of Mark seeing it just yet! Ha!

Bridesmaids Dresses - Check!
http://www.watters.com/product.php?coll=wtoo&showid=698
The few we ordered together from the same store I got my dress just came in,
and I went to see them, and they are lovely!
Better than I thought, actually!
The colors on the website are not the colors we ordered -
they will be in the color ocean, with ivory lace.

Mark's Tux Rental - Check!
http://www.alsformalwear.com/shopexd.asp?id=71
Ralph Lauren, here he comes! HA!
Mark decided to go with a RL pinstripe suit ...
it's classic and the coat looks amazing on him.

Groomsmen Tux Rental - Check!
They will either wear the same tux as Mark, or
possibly a simple black one.
Whatever they decide will look fantastic!

Ceremony Music - Check!
http://www.sunquartet.com/
Because the ceremony is outside, we don't have any way to get music out there.
Sooo, we are having a string quartet come and play their music for us!
I have heard them and they are wonderful!

Reception Music - Check!
We have a DJ, although I don't know much about him yet.

Catering - Check!
We just have not yet decided on the menu!
They are certainly yummy, but I don't like their website, so I'm not posting it! Ha!

Cake - Check!
http://www.tracyscakes.com/
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a219/haleyjane9/OURCAKE.jpg
Our cake person, Tracy, is amazing!
It's incredibly yummy, one hundred percent personalized, and just plain beautiful!
I can't wait to see our cake fully complete!
Mark is having a grooms cake, although I really don't know much about it!

Honeymoon - Check!
http://www.sandals.com/main/antigua/an-home.cfm
We will be basking in the sun at the Sandals resort in Antigua!
I cannot even tell you how excited we are!
It's going to be a nice payoff to all these crazy things we've been having to do!
We will be staying in the Honeymoon Oceanview Suite where we will have a butler to wait on us 24/7 and accommodate our every need. I'm ready to leave now!

I'm sure there are other things, but I can't really think of any off the top of my head at the moment! We are working on getting rooms blocked off for our out of town guests, although everyone should know that they are welcome at our house, or my parents, or I'm sure even Mark's parents - if you know them! Haha!

I'm so excited! May 17 is going to be here before anyone knows it!

Help us decide!

Okay, so I'm sure everyone knows that the bachelor/bachelorette party is pretty darn important! It will be the only time all us girls/all the guys can get together and do silly and crazy things with a great excuse!

We want to have a great time, but no one wants to break the bank! Trust me ... I completely understand the financial issues that come in to play here! Unfortunately, nothing having to do with a wedding is cheap!

So, the poll below is going to decide where we are going to go! Anyone we actually know can vote ... and if you have another idea about where we could go, leave it in the comments and I can update the poll! But for the moment, these are the top contenders!

It really truly does not matter where we go ... as long as we can all be together for a drama free night that will create wonderful memories we'll be talking about for years to come! Vote away! =-)

Where will we spend our last weekend unmarried?!!
What city will our bachelor/bachelorette party be in?

New Orleans
Dallas
Austin
San Antonio

SO, it is completely crazy that the last time this was updated was in August!

From August up until recently, the wedding festivities have kind of been at a stand still. I never realized how much the holidays affect people's lives! Goodness! Ha!

Anyway, so a lot has happened recently. We found and ordered the bridesmaids dresses - Hooray!
Although the above picture is of the dress, it's not of the right colors. The actual dress is a light blue, with ivory where the white is in the picture (which is lace), and a chocolate brown ribbon. I love it! I want to get one to wear to my wedding! Ha!

So we have a lot left to do ... this weekend is when the craziness continues ...
This Saturday we are having a cake testing at Romano's Bakery in Dallas ... Sunday we are having a cake testing at Tracy's Cakes, and at some point my Mom is hiring a friend of hers to take our engagement pictures. Is that not crazy that we have been engaged forever and still have not taken engagement pictures?!!

After our full weekend, we still need to ...
- register for gifts
- actually order a cake
- select the menu for the catering (we already have the caterer)
- rent chairs for the ceremony
- order invitations
- figure out and print the wedding programs
- find a first dance song (we have a few in mind)
- buy wedding party presents
... SO MUCH MORE!!!

We are four months out and I have come to realize I am quite an unorganized bride!
=o)
